BAVARIAN SPICE CHOCOLATE CAKE This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcello Estate in Denton, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
1 package devil's food cake mix |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 cup cold mashed potatoes |
1/2 cup butter softened |
1/2 cup water |
3 eggs |
glaze |
1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 tablespoon milk |
1/2 cups powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then grease and flour a fluted tube pan.
2. In large bowl blend cake mix, cinnamon, nutmeg, potatoes, butter and water.
3. Pour into prepared pan then bake at 350 for 45 minutes then cool upright in pan 25 minutes.
4. Invert onto serving plate then cool completely.
5. In small saucepan blend chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon butter and milk then pour over sugar.
6. Mix well until sugar dissolves then pour over cake.
