This recipe came from the Barnwell Scool Cookbook. It's one of those great cookbooks from a small prairie town that I use EVERY day. It's so great! (Barnwell, Alberta) This recipe serves lots, and is great if you are have a big group of people to feed. My kids love them, as well as all the kids in our neighbourhood that visit often, and love to stay for dinner when this is in my oven!
Ingredients:
5 lbs ground beef
3 medium onions, chopped
3 large potatoes, grated
1 teaspoon sage
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon curry powder (i use more)
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 1/2 cups ketchup
2 1/2 cups water
hamburger bun
Directions:
1. Fry Onions and Ground Beef.
2. Drain off fat.
3. Add remaining ingredients.
4. Cook in oven for approx 2 hours at 325 Degrees.
5. Stir occasionally.
6. This will fill 30 Hamburger Buns.
7. Can be cut in half or doubled very easily.
8. Yumpy.
