The barbeque is really a sweet, tangy ketchup (or catsup if you prefer) based sauce that make for a great sauce. An excellent meal for the masses and even better when its eaten as leftovers the next day. This recipe is easly doubled, tripled or quadrupled to feed everyone who's coming to dinner.
Ingredients:
6 -12 hot dogs (i prefer hebrew national, but feel free to choose your own!)
2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion (diced finely)
4 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon yellow mustard (wet)
Directions:
1. Saute diced onion in butter until clear (not brown!).
2. Add ketchup, water, sugar, vinegar and mustard.
3. Bring to boil and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
4. Serve hot! (But be sure to save any leftovers, you'll want them tomorrow!).
