Zapiekanka is a Polish name for halved baguette topped mainly with ham, mushrooms, sauteed onions, cheese. Some people even like to add different types of vegetables, like peppers.
Ingredients:
1 baguette
mushrooms
mozzarella cheese
chives
tomatoes
cucumber
onion
ketchup
Directions:
1. Cut mushrooms and onion into small pieces then mix everything together. Add salt and pepper.Put pan on stove over medium heat until hot, butter pan.
2. Slice the bread in half along the middle and spread the butter. Add ready mushrooms with onion, spread mozzarella cheese.
3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
4. Place the two loaves of bread in a dry warm spot & let them sit, covered, for 15 minutes.
5. When the baguettes are ready, put on the top of cheese tomatoes, cucumber and chives. Add ketchup for the great taste.
6. Enjoy!
