Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

This is a nice hearty, cake like muffin that every one seems to love. Great for breakfast, brunch or an after school snack.
Ingredients:
1 c butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk (can use milk with 1/2 tsp vinager)
2 mashed ripe bananas
1 c oatmeal
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp soda
2 c all purpose flour
1 c chocolate chips (i use 1/2 milk & 1/2 semi-sweet)
Directions:
1. In mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar.
2. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
3. Add milk and bananas and blend together.
4. Add oatmeal, salt, soda, and flour until well blended
5. stir in chips
6. grease 24 med size muffin cups and fill 2/3 way full
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
8. Let cool for at least 15 min before serving
