Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, alternating with the banana, blending well after each addition.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Pour into the loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until done.
  7. Remove from pan and allow to cool.
