Banana Nut Bread

This is a very moist bread, especially the next day...freezes well also. I sometimes add raisins.
Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
2/3 cup buttermilk
3 -4 over-ripe bananas, mashed
2/3 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.
2. Add all other ingredients.
3. Pour into 2 loaf pans and bake for at least 1 hour at 350 degrees or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
