This is my grandma's recipe...over 80 years old! It is a favorite with everyone! Perfect with coffee or tea or anytime. It's not too sweet and its very moist!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup mashed bananas (2-3 very ripe ones!)
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups flour - regular or self-rising
1/2 cup nuts, chopped or poppy seeds
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F/180C
2. Spray bread pan with cooking spray.
3. Mix first 6 ingredients together. Beat 1 minute on medium speed until all 6 ingredients are well blended.
4. Stir in remaining ingredients on high speed until moist and completely mixed.
5. Bake for 50 - 60 minutes - depending on oven. When toothpick comes out clean, it is ready!
6. Enjoy warm or not!
