BANANA BLACK WALNUT CAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greer Estate in Arlington Texas in 1987.
Ingredients:
1 box banana cake mix
1 stick butter
4 eggs
2 large over ripe bananas
1 cup black walnuts
1 can french vanilla icing
2 drops yellow food coloring
1 tablespoon fine graham cracker crumbs
1 tablespoon crushed black walnuts
Directions:
1. Combine ingredients for cake according to box substituting water with whole milk.
2. Add bananas, butter, black walnuts and eggs then mix well.
3. Pour into sprayed tube pan and bake for 50 minutes at 350.
4. Cool slightly in pan then invert to serving platter to cool completely.
5. When cake has completely cooled ice with French vanilla icing mixed with food coloring.
6. Sprinkle with fine cracker crumbs and walnuts.
