Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a 12 by 16 baking pan brushed with melted butter layer 8 sheets of dough overlapping to cover bottom of pan, buttering each sheet as you go.
  2. Mix walnuts , sugar and spices
  3. Spread one third of nut mixture over dough
  4. Repeat with second set of eight sheets of dough
  5. Again spread one third of nut mixture over dough
  6. Repeat steps one and two a third time
  7. Cover with remaining sixteen sheets
  8. Score diagonally in 1 1/2 inch diamonds
  9. Brush with remaining butter
  10. Bake in a 350 degree oven one hour
  11. While baklava is baking make syrup
  12. Brink all ingredients to a boil and boil for 10 minutes.
  13. Strain syrup
  14. Remove baklava from oven and cool slightly
  15. Pour warm syrup over baklava
  16. Cool completely
  17. Cut into diamonds and enjoy enjoy enjoy
