My whole family loves this one! Just add a salad and some good Italian bread and everyone will be happy.
Ingredients:
2 cups canned diced tomatoes
2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup diced bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1+1/2 italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 bay leaves (remove after cooking sauce)
1+1/2 pounds ground beef
8 ounces thin spaghetti
1 cup grated sharp cheddar
1 cup grated monterey jack cheese
Directions:
1. In pot, combine tomatoes, tomato sauce,water, onions, peppers, parsley, bay leaves, sugar, and seasonings. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered 1 hour.
2. crumble ground beef in saucepan; brown and drain. Add to sauce and let sauce cook another 20 minutes.
3. While sauce simmers, cook pasta.
4. Cover bottom of a baking pan (13x9x2) with sauce.
5. Add 1/2 the pasta, then half the cheese.Add the remaining pasta ,then sauce.
6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
7. Top with remaining cheese and continue to cook til cheese is melted and bubbly
8. Let sit for 10 minutes
9. cut into squares and serve
