--Baked Potato-- Baked, Microwaved or Grilled

This is a basic recipe for a baked potato with 3 ways of preparation that being baking, microwaving or grilling. It can be made for one, two, three or four potatoes or more. A Better Homes recipe that has been around for years and has been tested over time. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy! ChefDLH
Ingredients:
4 baking potatoes (russet, idaho, etc) or 4 sweet potatoes (russet, idaho, etc)
aluminum foil
butter
oil
shortening
margarine
sour cream
bacon
butter
chives
Directions:
1. FOR BAKED:.
2. ***************.
3. Scrub baking or sweet potatoes thoroughly with a brush.
4. Pat dry.
5. For soft skins rub the skins with butter, shortening, margarine or oil -OR-.
6. Skip rubbing skins.
7. Prick potatoes with a fork.
8. Wrap each potato in aluminum.
9. Bake in 425 degree oven for 40-60 minutes or in a 350 degree oven for
10. 70-80 minutes until tender.
11. When done, roll each potato gently under your hand.
12. Then cut a crisscross in each top with a knife.
13. Press in and up on the ends of each potato.
14. Add toppings of your choice.
15. FOR MICROWAVED:.

17. Scrub 6-8 ounce baking or sweet potatoes.
18. Pat dry (Do not rub with butter, margarine, shortening or oil).
19. Prick with a fork.
20. Arrange potatoes on a plate in a spoke fashion.
21. Microcook, uncovered, on 100% power(high) until tender.
22. 5-7 minutes for one potato.
23. 7-9 minutes for two potatoes.
24. 13-16 minutes for 4 potatoes.
25. Rearranging and turning potatoes over once.
26. Let stand 5 minutes.
27. When done, roll each potato gently under your hand.
28. Then cut a crisscross in each top with a knife.
29. Press in and up on the ends of each potato.
30. Add toppings of your choice.
31. FOR GRILLING:.

33. Scrub baking or sweet potatoes.
34. Pat Dry.
35. For soft skins rub the skins with butter, shortening, margarine or oil.
36. Prick potatoes with a fork.
37. Wrap each potato in a 7 inch square of heavy foil.
38. Grill potatoes on an uncovered grill directly over medium slow coals for 1 to 2 hours or until tender .
39. When done, roll each potato gently under your hand.
40. Then cut a crisscross in each top with a knife.
41. Press in and up on the ends of each potato.
42. Add your choice of toppings.
