Delicious onion rings. They do take some time and are a bit messy to make, but taste great. They are also a bit more healthy since they are baked instead of fried and coated in the Panko bread crumbs.
Ingredients:
1 onion
1 cup flour
1 dash seasoning salt
1 dash pepper
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
olive oil
Directions:
1. Prep: 1 cup flour in bowl/tupperware. Add seasoning salt and pepper to taste).
2. In a second bowl: mix one egg and a few tablespoons of milk. beat with fork.
3. In a 3rd container: Panko bread crumbs, seasoning salt, pepper.Drizzle a slight amount of olive oil over the mixture.
4. Cut onion into rings. (Vidalia onions are the best!).
5. Put several rings in flour mixture. Coat evenly.
6. Remove rings from flour mixture, dip quickly in egg/milk mixture.
7. Put rings in bread crumbs and coat evenly. Remove and lay on greased cookie sheet.
8. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until done.
9. It is easier to put the 3 bowls/ingredients into tupperware with a lid and shake with onions in it.
