FLAVOR GALORE! Great for parties or serve for Super Bowl event. Watch out - this dip is ADDICTIVE! Great served on Triscuits Thin Crisps, Club or Ritz crackers. If you want more zing or bite increase garlic powder or hot pepper sauce. For best results do not exceed amount of butter or mayonnaise. A good inexpensive dip for parties and you may want to double the recipe for a party. Oh Man, this is good!!!
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon butter
1 large sweet onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 tablespoon parsley
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Directions:
1. Melt 1 teaspoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add finely chopped onions and cook 5 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly.
2. Mix mayonnaise, both cheeses, parsley, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce in a medium bowl. Stir in onions and spoon into a baking dish.
3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 or 25 minutes or until heated through. (I have used my toaster oven with a flat bowl that fits.) Serve on triscuits, club or ritz crackers. I like the new triscuit thin crisps best.
4. Enjoy!
