BAKED GARLIC CHEESE GRITS DATED 1965 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Baker Estate in Addison, Texas in 1984. Tried and true. Nothing fancy, but oh so good.
Ingredients:
1 cup uncooked grits
4 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
1. Cook grits in salted water then when done add remaining ingredients.
2. Pour into greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
