This was so good. Put together the night before Thanksgiving and just put in oven when your ready for breakfast. I make French Brioche and that is the bread that I use for everything!
Ingredients:
1/4 (1lb) loaf french bread cut into slices
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup fresh cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons light corn sugar
1 tablespoon of fine orange zest
Directions:
1. 1. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2. 2. Arrange the slices of bread in the bottom.
3. 3. In a bowl, beat the egss, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon.
4. 4. Pour over the bread slices, cover and refrigerate overnight.
5. 5. Then when ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
6. 6. In a saucepan add the butter, brown sugar and corn syrup, heat until bubbling.
7. 7. Pour over bread and egg mixture.
8. 8. Bake in preheated oven, uncovered for 40 minutes.
