Recipe is from Mossey River community cookbook.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs white beans
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 -3 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 large onions, chopped
3 -4 stalks celery, finely chopped including leaves
3 -4 cloves, of garlic crushed
1/2 lb chopped bacon
2 tablespoons molasses
Directions:
1. Soak beans overnight.
2. Drain beans and rinse.
3. I fry the bacon first to get rid of extra fat, but isn't necessary.
4. Put all ingredients into large covered roaster with enough water to cover ingredients.
5. Watch liquid during baking.
6. Bake 4 to 5 hrs at 325 or until done.
