Bacon Topped Mini Meatloaf

Hungry for a meatloaf with a twist? These taste just as good, if not better than the classic but are quick to prepare and have all the flavor and tenderness of the original. The bacon... well, it's just an added bonus. I got this recipe from an old friend from high school.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb italian sausage or 1 lb turkey italian sausage
1 egg
3/4 cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 slices pepper bacon, cut into quarters topped with pepper or 4 slices regular bacon, topped with pepper
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients together except the bacon, ketchup and brown sugar. Spray a 12x9 glass casserole dish with cooking spray and press the mixture into the pan.
2. Cut down the center length ways and then cut each half into quarters. Once cut, form loaves out of each section making sure that the edges of one loaf does not touch another.
3. Mix ketchup and brown sugar together thoroughly then brush on top of loaves.
4. Finally, top each loaf with 1/2 of a strip of bacon.
5. Bake at 450 for approximately 20 minutes.
