Bacon and Cornmeal Waffles

Don't these sound wonderful for a weekend morning? With warm maple syrup? Yum!
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons double-acting baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 3/4 cups milk
4 tablespoons butter, melted
6 slices bacon, cut in half
Directions:
1. Sift the dry ingredients together.
2. Stir in the milk, eggs, and melted.
3. butter, stirring as little as possible to thoroughly mix the ingredients.
4. Pour the batter into a preheated waffle iron and lay two half slices.
5. of bacon on each waffle.
6. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, or until steam no longer escapes from the waffle iron.
7. Makes 6 waffles.
