Aunt Mil's Oven Stew

This is a recipe my mother got from a dear friend and even though it takes five to six hours of cooking, it has become our favorite stew. And it is so easy to make with a minimum of work involved.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs stew meat
6 medium potatoes, cut up
6 carrots, cut in chunks
1 onion, sliced
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
2. Layer meat and veggies in a large dutch oven or roaster pan.
3. Mix soups, soup mix and tomato sauce together and pour over the meat and vegetables.
4. Cook 5 to 6 hours.
