Aunt Lila's Hamburger Stroganoff

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups rice, uncooked
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 lb mushroom, sliced
1 can cream of chicken soup (10-oz size)
1 cup sour cream
Directions:
1. Prepare rice, salt and water according to manufacturer's directions .
2. In large skillet, saute onion in butter until golden.
3. Stir in beef, garlic, flour, salt, MSG, paprika, pepper and mushrooms.
4. Cook for 5 minutes.
5. Add soup and simmer 10 minutes, uncovered and stirring occasionally.
6. Stir in sour cream until well combined.
7. Serve over hot rice.
