This is a wonderful dessert in the winter. I can remember my aunt making this when I was a little kid. She always gave me an extra scoop of whipped cream. Ingredients:
pudding |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup whole milk |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup chopped dates |
2 tsp baking powder |
syrup |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 cup hot water |
lump of butter |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
whipped cream |
Directions:
1. Make Pudding: 2. Mix flour, milk, brown sugar, dates and baking powder. Pour into a greased baking dish (I use a souffle dish). Pour the syrup mixture over the batter and bake in a 325 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until tests done. 3. Syrup: 4. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and when butter has melted, pour over the batter as indicated above. |
