April's Quinoa Soup

This recipe comes from my sister. It's a little too sweet for me-maybe too much tomato?
Ingredients:
3 tbsp canola oil
1 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup chopped shallot
1/4 cup diced carrot
1/2 cup diced celery
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
2 1/2 cups chopped chicken breast
64 ounces organic low-sodium chicken broth
29 oz. canned whole tomatoes
4 cups chopped swiss chard
2 cups quinoa
Directions:
1. Rinse quinoa
2. Cook quinoa for 5 minutes
3. Chop/dice all vegetables and chicken breast
4. Heat oil on high heat
5. Brown chicken
6. Add garlic, onion, shallots, carrot and celery; cook for 5 minutes
7. Add oregano, cumin and paprika
8. Add chicken broth and canned tomatoes
9. Add quinoa and swiss chard
10. Simmer for 10-15 minutes
