Apricot Preserve Nut Bread

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup chopped nuts
2 tablespoons melted shortening or 2 tablespoons salad oil
1 egg
1 cup apricot preserves
1/2 cup lemonade or 1/2 cup orange juice
Directions:
1. Sift dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
2. Add nuts, shortening, egg, preserves, and juice.
3. Stir until mixture is dampened, but not smooth.
4. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan and bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
