This recipe is so simple I hesitate to post it. It is such a staple at our house, just thought others might like to try this method. A rotary food press (or food mill) is needed for this this recipe . (Mirro makes one If you search under aubuchonhardware + rotary food press a pic will pop up)
Ingredients:
4 lbs apples, washed and quartered
2 cups water
Directions:
1. Place unpeeled apples and water in a large heavy bottomed pot.
2. Cover and place over low-med heat, stirring occassionally.
3. When apples are soft and still hot, run through a food mill placed over a bowl.
4. (It is now ready to eat hot or cold.) To Freeze: Cool Place in quart ziplock bags and freeze.
5. Makes about 4 quarts.
