This smells great while it's cooking and is really nice served warm with roast pork. I found this recipe in the Sunset Crockery Cookbook.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs medium size golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
1/3 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons lemon juice
freshly ground nutmeg
Directions:
1. Spread apple slices in a 3-quart or larger slow-cooker (crock pot).
2. Sprinkle with sugar; insert cinnamon stick down between apples.
3. Drizzle with lemon juice.
4. Cover and cook on low until apples form a thick sauce, about 6 1/2 to 8 hours.
5. Remove and discard cinnamon stick.
6. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
