Eggless bar that you could add chopped apples to if you like but they are great just like they are with coffee or a cold glass of milk. From a Door County Wisconsin B&B cookbook.
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 dash ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except those for the topping.
2. Mix well with a mixer.
3. Spread intoa greased jelly roll pan.
4. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over top of batter.
5. Bake at 350 until lightly browned, 25-35 minutes.
6. Cool slightly and cut into squares.
