Complements of Bangers n'Mash cookbook, this old time favourite from the UK is an ideal test for a young beginner. As a tip, try this a-la-mode with ice cream, or pour over your favourite topping. The kids will love it!
Ingredients:
8 ounces shortcrust pastry dough
2 tablespoons cinnamon
4 large apples
4 ounces brown sugar
Directions:
1. Roll the pastry into long strips.
2. Peel and chop apples finely, and spread over surface.
3. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
4. Roll up like a Swiss roll.
5. Bake in the oven, on the middle shelf, for 45 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
