Apple Pie Oatmeal

Toddler-friendly, Mom-approved oatmeal
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup dried apple
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups water
1 cup 2% low-fat milk
1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a saucepan and add the dried apple pieces, cinnamon, vanilla, water and milk. Bring to a boil and add the oats. Cook about 5 minutes or until it's the consistency you like. Stir in the applesauce*. If desired, stir in a little more milk.
2. *use natural (no sugar added) applesauce.
