Apple Pecan Layer Cake

Sweet and spicy cake with brown butter icing.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups applesauce
3/4 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter (no subs)
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
6 -8 teaspoons apple juice
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350F degrees.
2. Grease and flour 2 9in cake pans.
3. In lg bowl mix first 6 ing.
4. Add applesauce, oil, and eggs.
5. Blend until moistened.
6. Beat on hi for 2 minutes.
7. Stir in pecans.
8. Pour into pans, bake 35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
9. Remove from pans, cool.
10. -frosting-.
11. In small heavy saucepan, on med heat, heat butter until light golden brown, stirring constantly.
12. Remove from heat, cool.
13. In lg bowl mix powdered sugar, 4 T of the apple juice and the butter.
14. Beat until well blended.
15. Add more apple juice as needed to make the right spreading consistency.
