Apple Pear Cobbler Bread

Fruits of fall are baked into a sweet, short bread. Even better with some ice cream on top!
Ingredients:
2 c flour (half spelt, if available)
1 tsp baking soda
1.5 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
1 stick of butter
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 med. apples (firm is preferred), diced
1 diced pear
Directions:
1. grease square pan
2. preheat oven to 350
3. cream butter and sugar
4. incorporate eggs
5. mix flour, baking soda, and spices
6. add dry ingredients to wet ingredients
7. spread half of the dough into bottom of pan
8. add even layer of diced fruit
9. top with another dough layer. i usually work the dough in small sections creating more of a patchwork top.
10. bake for 30 min
