This is delicious with a dollop of whipped cream. This is my husband's favorite dessert (after apple pie).
Ingredients:
1 quart sliced apple
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash cinnamon
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup whole milk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Place sliced apples in a 8x10-inch baking dish.
3. Mix sugar, flour and vinegar.
4. Add water.
5. Stir and boil until thick.
6. Remove from heat and add rest of ingredients.
7. Pour over apples.
8. Mix topping ingredients.
9. Place over apple mixture.
10. Bake 40 minutes.
11. Serve with whipped cream.
