Apple and cream cheese danish - so moist and delicious! Very easy to prepare. This recipe is from Doughmakers. If you haven't tried their bakeware, you are missing out. I won't use anything else now!
Ingredients:
4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup cream
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup golden raisin
5 granny smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 baguette, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Combine eggs, 3/4 cup sugar, cream, milk, 1/2 cup melted butter, vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and whisk together.
2. Take one baguette sliced into 1/4 inch slices.
3. Divide the cream cheese among slices of baguette and spread on top of bread.
4. Prepare 9x13 pan with butter.
5. Use 1/3 of the apples to make a layer in the bottom of pan.
6. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the raisins.
7. Follow with one layer of bread which has been spread with cream cheese.
8. Apply another layer using 1/3 of the apples, 1/3 of the raisins, and another layer of bread with cream cheese.
9. Place remaining apples and raisins on top of bread.
10. Pour egg mixture over bread.
11. Mix topping ingredients by placing flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl.
12. Cut cold butter into flour mixture until a crumbly topping is formed.
13. Add remaining raisins.
14. Sprinkle evenly over top of bread and egg mixture.
15. Put in preheated 350°F oven.
16. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
