Apple crisp is the smell and taste of autumn. This quick and simple apple crisp is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, for a dessert everyone will love.
Ingredients:
6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon spice islandsĀ® lemon peel
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
topping
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1/4 teaspoon spice islandsĀ® nutmeg, ground
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Mix apples, lemon juice, lemon peel, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Spoon into 8 x 8-inch greased, shallow baking dish. Set aside.
2. Mix butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in medium bowl until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
3. Bake at 375 degrees F 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm.
