Apple Cranberry Topping

Awesome apple topping for oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, ice cream or anything that needs a little kickstart. If you like your topping a little thicker, add a tiny bit of dissolved cornstarch (-1/2 teaspoon) at the very end.
Ingredients:
3 medium apples, any type
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 splenda quick packs
1 teaspoon orange zest
3/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup dried cranberries
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients except the cranberries in a saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil, then simmer, partially covered about 15 minutes until apples are softened and liquid is thickened.
3. Add cranberries and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
4. Stores well for a welcome addition to at work oatmeal!
