Apple Cake with a Crumble Topping

Maybe the apples could be sliced thinly instead of shredded.
Ingredients:
8 -10 apples, shredded
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 cup soft butter or 1 cup margarine
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
3 cups flour
Directions:
1. Fruit Filling: Mix Apples with other ingredients and set aside.
2. Dough: Cream together margarine and sugar.
3. Mix in the rest of the ingredients.
4. Press 1/2 of the dough into a greased 9 X 13- inch pan.
5. Pour fruit on top.
6. Crumble rest of dough on top.
7. Bake for 1- 1/4 hours at 350 degrees F.
