I love making this bread in the Fall. I have to admit, I eat mine with apple butter. Yum, yum, yum!!!
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup of grated apples (any kind you like. i like the tartness of granny smith)
3 tbsp. sour milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 cups raisins (optional)
1/2 cups chopped pecans (optional)
Directions:
1. Sift dry ingredients together.
2. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and milk. Beat.
3. Add dry ingredients and raisins, chopped pecans, and apples. Mix well. DO NOT BEAT.
4. Bake in greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
