Apple Brandy

For an alcohol-free drink, omit the brandy or use brandy-flavored extract.
Ingredients:
6 whole cloves
2 teaspoons lemon zest (grated peel)
2 1/2 cups apple cider
2 whole cinnamon sticks, each 2 inches long
2 tablespoons brandy
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine cloves, lemon zest, apple cider and cinnamon sticks.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Cover, reduce heat and simmer gently 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Remove pan from heat.
5. Strain out lemon zest, cloves and cinnamon.
6. Add brandy and serve.
