Thought this was a great recipe to add for the upcoming season and a vegetable that isn't always thought of other than for Holidays...:)
Ingredients:
2 c. cooked turnips
2/3 c. bread crumbs
1 tbsp. oleo or margarine
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. milk
1 egg
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Cook turnips until tender.
2. Drain, mash and then add 1/2 cup bread crumbs, saving rest for top.
3. Add egg, sugar, milk, salt and pepper to taste.
4. Mix together; pour into greased baking dish.
5. Dot with butter and rest of crumbs.
6. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees.
7. Serve with your favorite meal.
