Saw this recipe on a PBS station years ago when they were doing a pledge drive. Posting it for safe keeping. Baking time was not given so it is just an estimate. Servings and yield are also estimates as they were not given either.
Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 lb brown sugar
4 eggs
1 -1 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon brandy
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups oatmeal
4 cups corn flakes, crushed to match the size of your oatmeal
8 ounces dates, chopped
1 cup raisins
1 cup golden raisin
2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups white chocolate chips
Directions:
1. In a very large bowl, cream the margarine and butter together.
2. Mix in the sugar and brown sugar.
3. Add eggs, mixing well.
4. Stir in the vanilla and brandy.
5. Mix in the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
6. Stir remaining ingredients into batter.
7. Refrigerate until firm, up to 24 hours.
8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
9. Form balls the size of a handball (between a golf ball and baseball).
10. Place on parchment lined baking sheet, 6 per sheet.
11. Bake until just golden brown approximately 15-20 minutes.
