This sounds like it is a very rich recipe. I give it 30 minutes because you have to beet the egg whites. It may take more or less time.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb. of powdered sugar
1/2 lb. of almonds, blanched and browned
1 pt. of whipping cream
1/2 lb. of dates
5 eggs separated
2 twps. baking powder
sliced almonds
Directions:
1. Beat egg yolks.
2. Add date pulp, sugar and almonds.
3. Sprinkle baking powder over egg whites, beaten stiff and folded in.
4. Fold stiff whites into yolk mixture.
5. Bake in deep pie plate at 350 for 45 minutes.
6. When cool split in two layers and put whipped cream and sliced almonds between and on top.
7. Serves six.
