Adis Flaxseed Fruit Muffins

Naturally sweetened, low-fat muffins, packed with tasty and healthy flaxseed. A very healthy, yet terrific, alternative to sweeter muffins.
Ingredients:
1 cup whole spelt or wheat flour
1/2 cup white spelt or wheat flour
1/2 cup flaxseed meal, slightly grounded
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk or yogurt
1/2 cup honey
2/3 cup dry fruit of your choice, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
2. Beat liquid ingredients in a small bowl; keep fruit in reserve.
3. Stir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients all at once, add fruit and stir until thoroughly moistened but still lumpy.
4. Grease muffin pan or line with paper or foil cups and fill about two-thirds full. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of batter and bake at 400°F 20 to 25 minutes until golden.
5. Cool on a wire rack.
6. Keep tightly covered .
